The Dagny Mayo

The Dagny Mayo is an annual honor awarded to an individual that has made a significant contribution to Los Angeles through their charisma, hospitality, and engagement with individuals across disciplines, connecting them in ways that further the cultural and urban environment of our city.

The Dagny Mayo Award is named in honor of Dagny Janss Corcoran, a beloved founding board member of FORT: LA, who was well known as an arts and literary advocate in Los Angeles. Through her work, Corcoran embodied a passion for connecting people across disciplines, nurturing collaboration, and celebrating Los Angeles’ rich heritage. The Mayo is inspired by Corcoran’s playful love of mayonnaise—a fitting symbol, as mayonnaise not only brings flavors together but also represents the connective “glue” that binds diverse people and ideas, just as Dagny did throughout her life.
